It comes packed away in its box ready to be pulled out and plugged in. Nothing to assemble. Although, you do have to open it up and take all the protective materials out first (and preferably, wash the tray/basket). They do a good job of protecting everything from scratches before it gets to you. There is nothing else in the box other than some instructions. You don't get a vast list of sample cook times or anything, but searching Google will get average cook times for most fryers anyway.
